It’s that time of year again to slow down and enjoy the summer. Many of us are full on hustle during the colder months but sometimes we need to slow down and recharge to keep moving forward.

What are your plans this summer? Are you making time for rest and relaxation (a little R&R)? Are you visiting family and friends?

Slow Down - It's Summer! Summer Challenge

There are some people that can’t wait for summer to take time off. And then there are those A types like me that at the end of August you realize the summer has gone by and you didn’t even take time to take a walk and enjoy the warm weather. This post is for you.

One thing I realized over the years is that if you take half a day, a day, even a week off – your business is not going to crumble. In fact when you take time to recharge your business benefits.

Yes, you read right. Taking a step from your business, even if it’s an hour during your normal business hours can benefit your business. You come back fresh with new ideas and more relaxed.

Also you will learn to put processes in place so you are not the wheel that keeps your business running. On my last vacation, everything was scheduled in advance and no one was the wiser that I was out of the country. I rarely checked email and did minimum work. It is possible to step away.

Not only do you want to slow down but you also want to make time for reading. Read for pleasure and development. Get a nice juicy big fat fiction book you can read this summer. I’m looking for series I can sink my teeth into.
